Hi! Welcome back to Wear is She Wednesdays, a series that highlights one special girl each week to let her shine! Today we’re asking the question everyone wants to know… Wear is Alexandra Gordon?

WEAR IS... ALEXANDRA GORDON?

Whilst scrolling through the fashionable depths of Instagram one day, Alexandra's account was suggested to me. One scroll through her page revealed so much gold; experimental makeup looks, a bracelet made of lucky charms, a pair of glittery pink Mary Janes. She was playful, charming and instantly I knew I needed to feature her. Read on to get her take on vintage street style photos, ethical fashion and Smeg blenders.

1. How would you describe your style in 3 words?

Whimsical, timeless, functional.

2. Who or what inspires your style most currently?

Instagram icon @double3xposure has definitely turned me into a sustainable fashion fanatic, and I’m always inspired by old street photos from the 50’s to the 70’s. I like seeing pictures of people’s parents or grandparents wearing everyday clothes or getting dressed up.

3. What is your current favorite outfit?

Levi orange tab black jeans that I altered myself, @clanclanclanclanclan Lamu top, @coreymoranis orange lucite bracelet, vintage @gucci cheetah print skinny scarf worn as a hair tie, and vintage @gucci platform men’s loafers.

4. What are your favorite places to shop and why?

Local thrift stores and small brand suppliers are my go to in person, but I also love supporting small shops such as @roomshopvintage and @shopberriez. I only purchase vintage, handmade, sustainable, secondhand, or small-business clothing brands, as I am adamantly against fast fashion.

5. Do you have any current favorites to share with us?

A few of my current favorite things are HipCityVeg vegan lox and bagel sandwiches, my Smeg blender, and Alie Ward’s podcast “Ologies” where she interviews different specialists in unique fields.

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?

This year I made it my ultimate goal to make my entire closet fast-fashion free, which I did and I’m really proud of that! I’ve also begun to sell my art (I’m a painter and graphite artist) through Instagram and am in the process of setting up a website for viewing it/commissions.

Where else can we find you, Alexandra?

I’m @alexandra___gordon on Instagram (three underscores) and I curate a moodboard under the handle @p_a_m_p_l_e_m_o_u_s_s_e

Every Wednesday, we feature a different “she,” and get the scoop on her style, what makes her tick, and how the heck we can learn to be as awesome as she is. WEAR IS... NICOLE VICCICA?

It's difficult not to instantly fall in love with Toronto based Nicole Viccica's effortless style. Take a spin through her instagram and you'll not only discover some seriously chic style inspiration, you'll notice her impressive plant collection too! With a thumb just as beautifully green as her eyes, Nicole confesses to loving her plant babies like nothing else. Keep reading to learn more about the lovely girl behind the garden.

1. How would you describe your style in three words?

I think the three words that would describe my style the most would have to be vintage, cozy, and bright!

2. What does personal style mean to you?

Personal style is something that makes you who you are. To me it means freedom because you truly have the freedom to wear whatever makes you feel beautiful and that... is everything!

3. Is there anything on your thrift list right now?

My thrift list is truly never ending and if I could choose one thing to find it would with out a doubt be a vintage Louis Vuitton mini bag. I just love collecting mini designer bags and it would complete my little collection!

4. What’s one tip you could share for finding your personal style?

THE tip I can share for finding your personal style is finding classic pieces that you can always count on. Having those go-to items in your closet you feel confident in is always the base for an epic outfit! My go-to’s are light wash Levis and of course jewelry, throwing on mini gold hoops literally completes my outfits!

5. What hobbies and interests do you have outside of fashion?

Fashion is something that always make me shine, but my hobby outside of fashion that makes me shine the most would have to be gardening! I’ve been collecting and growing plants for over a year now and nothing makes me smile more than seeing a new leaf pop up on my plants... it’s truly my most favorite thing!

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?

You know, this is such a tricky question. Being proud of yourself is so important because you are your biggest critic and I’ve definitely struggled with confidence growing up. So I think the thing that I am most proud of is really finding my confidence and letting go of what people think. I found when I finally did that I became unapologetically myself and that’s so huge for me.

Where else can we find you, Nicole?

I’m honestly just a Toronto girl trying to find my way through life with hopes of helping you find your personal style, confidence or just a little bit of inspiration through this little series! Check out my Instagram @nicoleviccica, you’ll find my plant obsession on my Instagram stories and my love for fashion and beauty all over my feed! Xx

Driven and stylish Ashley Montero is always experimenting. Maybe it's with green eyeliner or maybe it's with the latest fashion trends that strike her fancy. Whatever she tries though, she always pulls off amazingly. The bright, pastel color palette of instagram feed is the perfect expression of her lovely personality. Keep reading to discover some serious style inspiration!

Hi, Ashley! Please introduce your wonderful self!

Hi! My name is Ashley Montero of @theashleynico! I’m a 31 year old girl living in the heart of California always chasing some goal or the latest trend.

1. How would you describe your style in 3 words?

It’s only two words but I would call my style: ever changing or always evolving. There are so many trends I'm into lately from all across the fashion spectrum that I would love to try. I’ve also been trying to incorporate more staple pieces so that when the trends change, I’ll have more solid classic pieces to intermix with!

2. What’s your current favorite item in your wardrobe?

My current favorite item would be my vast collection of Levi’s (both new and vintage). They go with everything and are just such great durable quality, they last forever! Definitely a closet staple.

3. What has your personal style journey been like and have you made any mistakes along the way?

Oh my gosh, so many fashion faux pas over the course of my twenties. I look back and just have to cover my eyes at some of it. Haha. I would say my style has definitely mellowed out a bit since entering my thirties.

4. Who or what inspires your style most?

I’m mostly inspired by the blogging community. I’ve made quite a few friends through it and it’s a never ending reel of inspiration. Lately I’ve mostly been inspired by Sivan Ayla though. Her style is so classic, effortless, realistic and valley girl chic.

5. What’s your favorite midnight snack?

Ice cream!

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?

Something I’m really proud would be my time management lately. Working full time but still finding the opportunity to blog and dress up and shoot content is like a whole other job but I’ve made it work thus far!

Where else can we find you, Ashley?

I’m starting a new blog soon! So stay tuned xoxo.

Wear is… Ella Levine?

Hi! Welcome back to Wear is She Wednesdays, a series that highlights one special girl each week to let her shine! Every Wednesday, we feature a different “she,” and get the scoop on her style, what makes her tick, and how the heck we can learn to be as awesome as she is. Today we’re asking the question everyone wants to know… Wear is Ella Levine?

WEAR IS... ELLA LEVINE?

Michaella Levine, or as she prefers, Ella, reminds me of a Renaissance painting come to life. Scroll through her instagram to get lost in a dreamy world of fine art, vintage films and major body positivity. It's hard to say what you'll be lusting over more after following her: her interior decoration skills or her stunning wardrobe. Most infectious however, is the way she approaches style and life so fearlessly. Keep reading and prepare to be totally hooked.

Hi, Ella! Please introduce your wonderful self!

Hey there! My name is Michaella Levine, but you can call me Ella. I’m a 23 year old upstate NY gal still kinda trying to navigate her way through life. I’ve got a couple years of college under my belt, where I was studying english/creative writing, but am currently on an (extended) break as I figure out life and exactly what my fashion future holds. I’m a vintage lingerie enthusiast and you’d likely catch me wearing a corset to the supermarket. Available for all your picnic and dance party needs, here’s a little more about what makes me me!

1. How would you describe your style in 3 words?

Simple, sexy, sustainable

2. What does personal style mean to you?

Style is definitely a pretty major source of confidence for me. I mean, you can’t help but feel unstoppable in vintage Dior, but I’ve learned that it’s not everything. I think it’s important for personal growth to figure out what makes YOU feel truly happy with yourself and a lot of that can come from fashion, but there’s really no bigger validation than just being a genuine, well rounded person. Having kickass style should really just be like a bonus.

3. Is there anything on your thrift list right now?

I’m dying to find the perfect leather trench to live in this fall. That and a pair of vintage Prada boots. Just staple Fall pieces in general for sure, and I’m never not on the hunt for well fitting denim.

4. What's one tip you could share for finding your personal style?

Be fearless and be you! Style is a great way to showcase creativity and individuality and you should never be afraid to push boundaries or turn a few heads, whether that be by using lingerie as streetwear like yours truly or exclusively sticking to sweatpants. Ultimately, I've discovered that I am my harshest critic and if I believe that I've got it going on then who can tell me otherwise? That's the mindset I've embraced when it comes to style and I'm the most confident in my body I've ever been.

5. What hobbies and interests do you have outside of fashion?

I really love music. Like, I’m the annoying friend who will sing too loudly in the car but I’ll always come through with the perfect playlist for any mood. And I try to go to as many concerts as I can. My most recent fav was Maggie Rogers. Also does skincare count as a hobby?

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?

Something that I’m super proud of and grateful for right now and always is just the amazing support system I have in my life. Life is hard but it feels so much easier when you’re surrounded by uplifting energy. I’ve definitely reached a point where the all of the relationships in my life are either fulfilling me in some way or have been cut loose. I feel like that’s a very necessary step for personal growth that I’m proud to have taken.

Where else can we find you, Ella?

Other than Instagram and Twitter (@steviemicks_) I don’t use social media much at the moment. Though I have been very seriously considering a fashion blog (inspired by our very own @wearisshenow) so keep an eye out for that in the future! Also check out my Depop (@michaellaa), I occasionally have the strength to part with some of my clothes.

Wear is… Daina Reynolds?

Hi! Welcome back to Wear is She Now Wednesdays, a series that aims to highlight one special girl each week and let her shine! Every Wednesday, we feature a different “she,” and get the scoop on her style, what makes her tick, and how the heck we can learn to be as awesome as she is. Today we’re asking the question everyone wants to know… Wear is Daina Reynolds?

WEAR IS... DAINA REYNOLDS

Aside from Daina’s obvious physical beauty, the most beautiful thing about her is her heart. She’s overflowing with genuine care and generosity in a way that most people just aren’t. Her spontaneous, free spirit has lead her all around the world and her “just go for it” attitude towards life is infectious. Being one of my oldest friends, I could write a book on the wonderful things about her, but I’ll let Daina’s interview speak for itself.

Hi, Daina! Please introduce your wonderful self!

Hi, my full name is Daina Seeta Reynolds, and I spend (arguably) waaaaay too much time in my head. My current hobbies include reading, writing, and beaching (?) mainly. Despite my seemingly stagnant list of hobbies, I actually love to move my body. Yoga, pilates, walking, and dancing all (welcomely) creep themselves into most days. Though I still ask myself what truly defines a person, I like to think we are ever changing; constantly evolving into our most wonderful selves.

1. Why is travel so important to you?

For me, I feel that I experience a lot of growth during times of travel. New perspectives, greater lessons. There is a sense of immersion that innately happens when we put ourselves in a new space. To be broken out of the routine, and placed somewhere so drastically different can bring on enormous change. It is a reminder that there is so much to this world. These "awakenings", are part of the reason I find travel so important.

2. What is your biggest tip for those interested in doing solo travel?

Above all, just go for it, and trust, trust, trust! I could honestly make an entire video about this. Part of the secret is to not fear the unknown, to go with an open mind, and to be accepting of what comes in. The less philosophical answer? Start small and ease yourself into it.

3. What does personal style mean to you?

Self expression; your ability to show others all that you embody in that moment. The emission of your truest self to the world; your unique touch. Personal style should feel radiant.

4. Who or what inspires your style most?

How I feel mainly. Noticing what I gravitate toward and staying true to that. If another person catches my eye, then I also work with that. People are better for motivation I think; seeing how good something looks on another encourages me to go out and find my own thing that also makes me feel that great. Understanding the difference between situational practicality and conformity. Know yourself and work with it. Inspiration is not a predictable thing.

5. What do you hope to be remembered for?

Making people feel something. For reminding people what it is like to connect. Genuine authenticity and the acceptance that goes along with it. Conversation that is thought provoking. In my head, these are all one thing.

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?

Learning the process of growth. In this endless cycle of creation it can sometimes seem as though no progress is being made, but the beauty is that we are always on our way 🙂

Where else can we find you, Daina?

You can find me on the insta @dainareyn and also on youtube. I also made a website? Not sure what my plan is for it yet, but if you want to take a look see every now and again, you can head on over to dainareyn.com 🙂
