One thing is for certain, Emma Roepke is one of the most hardworking, passionate people you’ll ever meet. She’s the kind of girl who goes for what she wants and overcomes whatever seeks to stop her. And somehow, between balancing the pursuit of her dream life, her studies and multiple jobs, Emma still manages to explore her wonderfully unique style. Read on to fall down the rabbit hole of her inspirations, aspirations and her refreshing authenticity.

Hi Emma! Please introduce your wonderful self!

Hello, I am Emma. Full name is Emma Frances Roepke. I grew up in Omaha, NE a city I now hold near and dear to my heart. I moved to New York three years ago to pursue my childhood dream which was to study fashion. I attend FIT and am majoring in fashion business with a double minor in ethics/sustainability and French. On top of that, I work at Anthropologie and intern at Loeffler Randall.

1. How would you describe your style in three words?

Psychedelic prairie grandma.

2. What does personal style mean to you?

Personal style is the way I communicate and project myself to others, especially when words do not suffice. I have dedicated a majority of my life to refining and developing my personal style. It is a never-ending, lifelong project of mine that allows me to be my most creative and authentic self.

3. Is there anything on your thrift list right now?

Vintage white tennis skirt! My friend Kate bought a vintage Lacoste one at Beacon’s and I’ve been dying for one ever since.

4. What’s one tip you could share for finding your personal style?

Buy whatever you are gravitated towards and makes you happy! My personal style started to develop once I began to thrift and shop vintage and ignored the current trends/what others were wearing. A huge tip is to never water down your style to please others. You’ll never feel satisfied with your style or personal self if you do.

5. What hobbies and interests do you have outside of fashion?

I have been vegan for 4 years so veganism is a huge passion of mine and through that, I have developed a great interest in health, cooking, and wellness. If I am not working or at school, you can catch me making batches of almond milk, vegan desserts, exploring hippie-dippie health markets, and listening to absurd wellness podcasts.

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: what’s something you’re really proud of?

I would have to say my current relationship with food. Eating disorders are not talked about enough, and ever since I developed an eating disorder in high school my relationship with food has been my biggest personal struggle. I am finally at a point where I no longer deem something as “good” or “bad” and allow myself to eat whatever it is that both my mind and body are truly craving (as long as it is vegan lol). It’s been the most beautiful and liberating experience. So, overcoming that mental battle is something I am really proud of.

Where else can we find you, Emma?

Instagram is the main platform I’m truly active on and worth your time so catch me @emma.roepke <3
